The Heartland Network, the definitive country music and lifestyle diginet, will premiere Season 2 of its first original series, More Than the Music, on July 16, 2019. Featuring intimate artist interviews, music videos, and more, More Than the Music will continue in its regular time slots of Tuesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. Eastern/Pacific.

Throughout the series, host Stacy Newman takes viewers along for the ride as she chats with both legends and rising stars of various genres, exploring popular venues, festivals, recording studios, pubs, and more as she goes. Season 2 finds the series in locations including Los Angeles, Nashville, Chattanooga, and LaGrange. This year’s guest lineup includes John Carter Cash, Randy and Mary Travis, Mitch Ryder, Valerie June, Trampled By Turtles, The War and Treaty, Judah & the Lion, Rayland Baxter, and Mountain Heart, just to name a few. Plus, the season will feature festival experiences at Pilgrimage, Moon River Music Fest, and the inaugural Hope Givers Music Fest.

Of Season 2, series host and co-producer Stacy Newman said, “The past two years have taken the crew and me to some really amazing places and to some really great artists — I couldn’t be more proud to bring another season of More Than the Music to y’all!” Newman added, “Keep an eye on our socials for more info and lots of fun previews!”

Joel Wertman, President of Heartland and Executive Producer of the series, said, “Making the leap into original productions was no small undertaking for the network, and I am thrilled with what our team accomplished in the first season. And now, we’ve put together a lineup of artists and venues for Season 2 that any music lover is sure to find compelling.”

More Than the Music host Stacy Newman was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit. After completing her film and media production studies in Tampa, Florida, Stacy passed through Chattanooga, where she had visited her grandfather many times as a child. It took just one hike to a stunning waterfall and swimming hole for her to fall head over heels and set her compass for Tennessee. And the rest, as they say, is history.

A classically trained brass player, Stacy has always been drawn to music of all sorts, and since she was a teenager, she’s made a habit of seeing live music as often as possible. She’s very excited to be back in front of the cameras with the artists for season two of More Than the Music!

More Than the Music Season 1 is currently available on demand via Heartland’s free Roku® channel, featuring artists like Naomi Judd, Charley Pride, Scotty McCreery, Don McLean, Cam, and Kevin Costner. The series is also set to launch via nationwide syndication this September.
